JOB TITLE: Social Practitioner

HOURS: Flexible 20+40PW

RATE OF PAY: £10.50 – 11.00PH+

SO, WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY BE DOING?

Stayathome have some exciting opportunities working as a Social Practitioner in a variety of roles. We currently support many different client groups in a variety of settings with unique needs including paediatric, mental health, young people and addictions packages.

The Social Practitioner will support clients with limiting illness, Mental Health conditions, Learning Disabilities, Drug and Alcohol addiction social enabling them to live life in the way that they choose. Clients may have some clinical elements which full training will be given to be able to meet this need effectively by our clinical lead, which has assisted many staff to progressed into Nursing qualifications. The Social Practitioner will be responsible for looking after their client’s physical, emotional and social needs, ensuring their safety, and enabling them to remain in their own homes or with their family at home. Our practitioners empower our clients, providing a gateway to independence, as well as an active and engaged role in the local community. We want to ensure out staff are happy so we continue to adapt our roles to play to staff strengths.

OK, I’M INTERESTED…BUT IS IT REALLY THE JOB FOR ME?

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable although career progression to complete these will be offered after 6 months of employment.
  • Due to the nature of this role a clean driving license and own transport is essential.
  • Previous experience in working with people with life-limiting illnesses is desirable, though not essential, as full training and support are provided throughout.
