Who Dares Works

Who Dares Works is funded by £3.3 million from the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund as part of the national Building Better Opportunities Programme. The project brings together a partnership of 17 Cornwall based social enterprises, across West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, to help a minimum of 850 people who need most support to connect or reconnect with work, education and training. The partnership builds on the unique strengths of each organisation working collaboratively to help participants to help themselves – wherever possible through helping others.

Who Dares Works is for people in West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly who face the biggest barriers and challenges to connecting or reconnecting with education, training and work. Participants must be 18 or over and not doing paid work of any kind.

Who Dares Works recognises that getting back to work or training can be a big and sometimes complex step, requiring a range of different support and motivation. Who Dares Works can help with;

  • Building motivation, confidence, self-belief and employability though great group activities that that run once a week for up to eight weeks utilising the skills and experiences and expertise of Active Plus military veterans
  • Personalised 1-2-1 support from a mentor that runs throughout a persons’ time with Who Dares Works, delivered by Pentreath and Addaction
  • Support to help with specific barriers or challenges whenever needed
  • A host of work related activities – from volunteering to developing community projects through to taster days, to training, job search, work experience and everything in between.
  • Who Dares Works participants can also get fully involved in the development, delivery, evaluation and management of the project through co-production activities led by CHAOS
