CHAOS meet Truro Firefighters
One of the many things we love about working at CHAOS is getting the chance to meet other community minded organisations and hear about the exciting ways in which they’re working to make a positive change. Last week, our friends at Truro Community Fire Station invited us to come and visit the station and discuss how both organisations could work closer together. In case you missed it – the crew from Orange Watch – have recently joined forces with local Community Radio station CHBN to bring their very own informative (and fun) show to the airwaves. Focusing on community issues, public safety information and generally sharing positivity – the radio show has already welcomed a massive response on social media and have attracted a number of new listeners to the station.
Our CHAOS Creative team were inspired by this “out of the box” way of thinking and we really wanted to support them in developing this initiative. A simple gesture of donating our professional editing software has enable the fire service to produce an “on-demand” version of the show for those who missed the live broadcast or want to listen back at any given time – enabling them to increase their listenership and social impact.
To find out more about how CHAOS could further support this project (and to get better acquainted with the people behind the idea) we sent roaming reporter and all round action woman, Emily to meet the crew from Orange Watch and get hands on with what it’s like to be a firefighter.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all those at Truro Community Fire Station and we look forward to working closer together in the coming months. The Truro Fire Takeover is available on CHBN on Friday, between 8pm-10pm and you can listen again on their MixCloud page. #KeepItChaos
